100 firefighters fight Hollywood strip-shopping center blast

More than 100 firefighters fought a non-injury fire that harmed a two-story strip shopping center today in Hollywood, and fire related crime was discounted as the cause.

The fire was accounted for at 4:27 a.m. at 4659 W. Wellspring Ave. in a hookah store and parlor on the second floor, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The flares were thumped down in 51 minutes.

The cause was recorded as "undetermined yet not suspicious in nature," Stewart said. A harm gauge was not quickly accessible.

The hookah store and parlor was red-labeled, and the organizations on the primary floor were yellow-labeled, Stewart said.

The fire spread to numerous units and through the veneer of the structure.

Stewart said firefighters effectively secured the four-story loft assembling instantly behind the strip shopping center.

No wounds were accounted for.

The crossing point of Fountain and Vermont roads was shut for the examination and torching units were summoned to the scene, Stewart said.
